ROCKY MOUNTAIN HARDWARE

The LEED Certified Gold corporate headquarters for Rocky Mountain Hardware consists of 60,000 square feet of administration, conference, manufacturing, and underground parking for the bronze hardware and fixture manufacturer. Following the LEED certification standards and principals, the project was designed to balance environmental responsibilities, resource efficiencies and the wellbeing of the company’s employees. The ability to use an extraordinary palette of exterior materials, including stone, steel, timber and glass allowed a thoughtful articulation of the scale and bulk of the building while developing a unique design.

The project has a 34.8% energy savings compared to ASHRE 90.1-2004 and reduces the use of potable water by 42%.  A Manufacturing closed loop water recycling system saves 700,000 gallons per year. 79% of construction waste and demolition debris was recycled. Recycled content of the total building materials, by value, was 31%. Natural daylighting is provided to 86% of regularly occupied interior spaces.

The Rocky Mountain Hardware project received the Award of Merit from the AIA Idaho Chapter in 2008.
