The 11,000 square foot Bigwood Bread Bakery and Café is located in Ketchum’s industrial district and serves as a commercial bakery and café. The cafe is integrated with the bakery, offering the patrons a unique indoor and outdoor dining experience. The bakery space is designed with independently climate controlled pastry and mix rooms, commercial ovens, walk-in refrigerator and freezer, prep areas and an employee break area. The café is designed with counter displays, table seating, stone fireplace, commercial kitchen, and dishwashing facilities. Administration offices and meeting spaces are also incorporated into the building. The rural farmhouse architectural motif utilizes weathered architectural metal siding, cedar board & batt, timbers and natural stone. Outdoor garden spaces and timber trellises create a natural outdoor patio setting within an urban environment. The Bigwood Bakery and Café was voluntarily designed under Ketchum’s future Commercial Green Building Code, which follows the standard set in the International Green Construction Code for sustainability.
